Jackfruit is a very popular meat alternative however, the nutritional properties of jackfruit do not come close to that of any high biological value protein. This, unfortunately, does not make jackfruit the ideal meat substitute. The next big meat substitute should ideally mimic the nutritional properties of meat more closely.

Jackfruit seems to be increasingly popular as a meat substitute. Jackfruit has a texture that has been described as stringy which makes it somewhat close to chicken or stringed pork for vegans. The fruit is very rich in vitamins and minerals, it is however much lower in protein than meat.

You could say that. There has a been an increase in the use of jackfruit as a meat substitute from what I have seen. This is because it can have a similar texture to pulled pork or other types of processed meat. However, the problem with relying on jackfruit as a meat substitute is that it lacks adequate protein. So yes, it might be the next big meat substitute, but the lack of proteins makes it not fit for replacing all meat in one’s diet.
