‘I don’t think I’m the favorite, but I feel strong to defend the title’ – Alvaro Bautista

Without a doubt, Alvaro Bautista is one of the references of this season in WSBK and he is also the man to beat on the track. The defending champion will again fight for the championship, but this time with the #1 on the front of his Panigale V4R.

‘I don’t think I’m the favourite. There are very fast riders, especially in the championship. I feel that the #1 is a personal motivation, a personal challenge, and that’s why I feel strong to defend the title with the #1. Defending the championship is more difficult. When you fight for the championship, you go to beat the other riders; now I’m the rider to beat’, he considered this thursday as he said to the championship’s official website.

Bautista recalled the documentary ‘The Return’ – which recalls the 2022 season when the spaniard won the title – and said he had seen it several times, always with a series of feelings involved:

– I loved The Return, because it’s a really beautiful story of my year 2022, but it also has some memories of my beginnings when it was really difficult for me to start in the World Championship. I felt a lot of emotion when I saw it and I didn’t see it just once; I saw it several times.
