In what will be his fifth season in MotoGP, Joan Mir will have as a teammate one of the great references of the peloton, if not the greatest: Marc Márquez. The two are at Repsol Honda, the new formation for the man from Palma de Mallorca.
The 2020 world champion rider said at the japanese presentation event what he thinks about being a teamamte of the #93: ‘This is a fresh new change and being partnered with a rider like Marc is the best way to benchmark yourself. I’m comparing myself with the best rider in the world. When two riders are very competitive, each gives the other energy to compete more and more. In the end, this is what we have to do’.
On the other hand, Mir highlighted the importance of the coincidence of opinions with Marquez about the bike: ‘Our comments and feedback were very similar in the tests so it looks like we are going in the same direction, which should make things easier for the engineers. I’m excited’.
